Bigots of the Month

Chess prodigy and bat-shit crazy bigot Bobby Fischer has died at the age of 64. Not long after proving he could be a jerk during chess matches, Fischer developed into quite the Jew-hating, America-denouncing, citizenship-renouncing nut-job.

Meanwhile, proving that there is no pander that falls beneath his "dignity" Mike "Christian Leader" Huckabee suggested that flying the Confederate flag above the South Carolina state capitol was a sacred act and those who find it an affront to human rights should stick a flag pole somewhere Jesus probably forgot to mention during his sermon on the Mount. Bear in mind that the official flag of South Carolina features a palm tree and the Confederate flag was only raised in 1962 to demonstrate opposition to the civil rights movement. Of course, this position aligns Huckabee with his good friends in the Nazi Party, as the video below demonstrates.

Huckabee also proposed amending the US Constitution so that it becomes a religious document, rather than a secular one. At a recent rally he declared: "And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view." I guess the flag-pole-up-your-ass amendment will be one of his first recommendations.

And in honor of Martin Luther King Day, let us recall that in 1983 22 Senators (led by uber-bigot Jesse Helms) and 90 Representatives voted against establishing a day in honor of Dr. King. South Carolina was the last state to officially recognize the holiday in the year 2000.
